Member Policy

Santa Cruz Athletic Club – Membership Policies and Terms

These policies are established to ensure the safety, enjoyment, and respect of all members, staff, and guests of Santa Cruz Athletic Club ("Santa Cruz Athletic Club" or the "Club"). By enrolling in a membership and using the facility, members agree to the following terms and conditions. Failure to comply may result in the suspension or termination of membership privileges.

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY POLICY

Santa Cruz Athletic Club admits and serves members without regard to race, religious creed, color, national origin, ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or age. Members who believe they have been treated unfairly should report to Club management or contact: info@santacruzathleticclub.com.

ACCESS & ENTRY

  • Check-In: Members must check in at the front desk using a key fob, membership card, or digital barcode. Re-entry also requires check-in.

  • Identification: A valid photo ID may be requested. Members must maintain current and accurate identification on file.

  • Good Standing: Entry may be denied for accounts with overdue balances or if a membership is otherwise not in good standing.

  • Guests: Guest access is subject to Club discretion. Guest passes are sold at our front desk.

MEMBER CONDUCT & CLUB USAGE

  • Conduct: Members must act respectfully at all times. Harassment, aggression, or disruptive behavior may result in suspension or termination of membership.

  • Private Areas: Use of phones, cameras, or recording devices is strictly prohibited in locker rooms, Aura Recovery Lounge, and other private spaces.

  • Inclusivity: Members may use locker rooms aligned with their gender identity and where they feel most comfortable.

  • Lockers & Laundry: Lockers are for day use only unless otherwise rented. Items left overnight may be removed. Santa Cruz Athletic Club is not responsible for lost or damaged property. Laundry and locker services are non-refundable and not eligible for freeze.

  • Sauna & Cold Plunge: Showering is required before use. Members must towel up or wear appropriate attire (e.g., swimsuit, workout clothing). Towels are mandatory.

  • Equipment Etiquette: Please do not linger on equipment. Members must share equipment, wipe down benches, and re-rack weights.

ATTIRE & CLASS PARTICIPATION

  • Dress Code: Athletic attire and footwear are required. Bare feet may be requested for certain classes (e.g., yoga).

  • Yoga Mats/ Towels: Yoga mats or towels are required in our heated studio for the safety of our members. 

  • RedRoom Studios: Boxing gloves are optional. We do not provide rentals

GROUP FITNESS

  • Booking: Certain classes require advance reservations. Members may book one class per day.

  • Cancellations: Must be made at least 3 hours before class starts. Missing a class will result in no-show charge. 

  • Punctuality: Arrive on time to your class and remain through the end of class to avoid disruption. Those who arrive more than 5 minutes late will not be allowed in as it disrupts the class and instructor.

PERSONAL TRAINING & AURA RECOVERY SERVICES

  • Authorized Use: Only Club-employed trainers may offer personal training. Outside trainers are prohibited.

  • Payment & Cancellation: Sessions must be paid for in advance. Cancellations require 24-hour notice.

  • Session Expiry: Sessions expire 6 months from purchase or upon membership termination.

  • No Refunds: All training and recovery sessions are final, non-transferable, and non-refundable.

  • Service Booking & Cancellation: Credit card is required to book sessions. Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance.

MEMBERSHIP TERMS, FREEZE & CANCELLATION

  • Early Termination: An $99 early termination fee applies to those who are still with in their term agreement. This fee is waived during the first month post-opening for flexibility.

  • Freezes:

    • May be requested for up to 3 consecutive months at $10/month.

    • Requests must be submitted at least 5 days prior to the start date.

    • Club access is not permitted during a freeze.

    • Ancillary services such as personal training and recovery are not paused or extended.

    • Members who access the Club while on freeze may have their account reactivated and prorated.

COMPLIMENTARY ITEMS

  • Promotional items (e.g., guest passes, sessions) are non-transferable, hold no cash value, and expire 90 days from issue. Not applicable toward dues.

YOUTH POLICY

  • Minimum Age: Members 12-17 must have a guardian sign membership agreement/waiver & liability terms. Members must be at least 16 to use the facility independently.

  • Minors: Members under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian unless enrolled in a Club-approved program.

SAFETY & SERVICE ANIMALS

  • Weapons: Firearms or weapons of any kind are not allowed.

  • Service Animals: Only ADA-compliant service animals are permitted. Emotional support animals and pets are not allowed. Damage caused by service animals is the member’s responsibility.

DATA & PRIVACY

  • Member data is collected to manage accounts, improve services, and communicate updates.

  • Marketing communications may be sent unless opted out.

  • Data is securely stored and only shared as necessary to operate Club services.
